El Convento Rico has near legendary status in Toronto as a place that is always fun. Its a unique environment that has evolved over the years. The Club has its origins in being a safe haven for gay, lesbian and Transgendered Latinos who did not have the freedome to express themselves in their homelands. Fortunately, acceptance of sexual diversity has improved in recent years that El Convento Rico is now an example of a place where everyone can feel safe - bring your mom, co-worker, your crossdresser club, or come alone, you%&ll never know who you%&ll meet.
