Partypm Feature Artist: POETIKAL

PARTYPM FEATURE ARTIST: POETIKAL

Poetikal (Ben Stortini) born May 11, 1980 to parents of the hit “Baby Blues” band has begun his flurry of musical outbreak in the city of Toronto.  His passion for music started at an early age, with the influence of his family of musicians and the drum set he received at an early age Poetikal was made.

Poetikal lived in Toronto’s North York area (Driftwood Ave.) up until he was 10.  His parents then moved the family to St. Joseph Island Just 8 hours north of Toronto.  Poetikal loved living in the country and discovered interests in swimming, basketball, singing and all else that living in the country had to offer. At 18 years old Poetikal went to Canadore College in North Bay Ontario for Television Broadcasting. It was a radio production class that led Poetikal to discover his love with music production and began to create his own unique beats. Teaching him self the ins and outs of music production, Poe produced his first CD “BORN”, with his friend Focused (Alex Malacarne) whom he met in College.  Poetikal sold “BORN” around campus and in a matter of no time attracted fans from all around the area and began to play shows to gratify them.

After graduation Poe moved back to Toronto and started recording his second CD “SILENT MUSIC” as well as getting his first job in T.V. Poetikal and Focused together saved enough money to manufacture 1000 copies of “SILENT MUSIC”.  The pair of Artists sold every copy and had tracks from the CD played at a few of the Toronto Raptors home games during halftime.

As time went on Poetikal grew tired of the same old life he was living.  Poe was tired of not seeing the results he strived for. His life transformed when he met a Welsh girl from the U.K. Poetikal sold everything he owned, quit his job, and moved to the U.K. to be with her. He was soon engaged and music seemed all but gone in Poe’s life. However something changed in him when he was over in the U.K.  He realized he had given up something that was a part of him.  Poetikal called off the engagement and moved back to Toronto, Canada and instantly started recording his new release “KiSUM”.

KiSUM’s production was strongly formed by new found friend P.K. Songs were pouring in from these two creative minds, alongside with the help from other amazing artists Cole Cash, Focused, Kal Pesh, Stokely and many many others. Upon Poetikals return to Canada he managed to get his job back at YTV which helped with the expenses, things felt right in Poe land.

Poetikal is now the hungriest artist in Toronto.  The final thing he needs is to be signed and there is nothing he wants more. His drive, sense of humor and willingness for drastic moves and change has brought him to the stage to finally show the world he truly is a star that just needs a chance. “All I want to do is put a smile on peoples faces and makes them forget all the stresses and problems they may have when they listen to my music, I just want people to be happy” his love for his family and friends in Blatant and his love for music is overpowering.

Mount St Poe is about to blow. You’ll see. OH NO!!!
