....so you wanna art in my face?
Hello fellow readers! Thanks for joining,....
In this blog I'd like to spot-light one of Windsor's out-spoken, edgy, but most of all talented artists, Daniel Bombardier A.K.A "Denial" who's work can be found in bars, clubs, restaurants, garbage-cans, over-passes, in bathroom stalls and bumper-stickers and all over the world.
Dan in my opinion has a graffitti-like, urban-decay, fuck-you kinda spin to his work making him a valuable asset to Windsor's downtown core. He uses every medium you can possibly think of to create paintings, stickers, sculptures and whatever else he feels deserves his Denial tag!
I've known Dan for a few years and have seen a consistently hard-working man bust his butt doing his art and running a printing business but at the same time create a sense of consiousness in the most whimisical, slap-stick, gritty kinds of formats. I got Dan to answer a few questions what he had to say...
Q) In what way can you see the art-scene in Windsor either growing or shrinking?
A) I think that diamonds are formed under pressure. I believe a lot ol the crappy art is forced to develop and really become great or fade away under these economic circumstances. I don't think its shrinking I just think we have a lot more good artists coming forth due to these circumstances I mentioned.
Q) What inspires you to create?
A) Being alive everyday and meeting people and going places really is what inspires me. I can find art in anything.
Q) You own a business/gallery, what services does your business offer?
A) My business "PRINTHOUSE" offers a wide range of digital printing laser cutting screen printing and any kind of signage as well as graphic design and web design services.
*There is an art gallery inside as well as a really funky little tattoo place downstairs!
Q) What schooling did you take to prepare yourself for your career?
A) I attended the school of hard knocks graduating class of 2000, hahaha. I went to school for computer science which helps out now and again I also went to school for AUTOcad and Customs Brokerage which pretty much has nothing to do with what I do as an artist.
Q) Are you going to be in any up-and-coming shows?
A) I am gonna be in the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition July 10-12th in Nathan Phillips Square in Toronot which is pretty exciting. I am also in a skateboarding art show at Chapel Arts in Vancouver in August.

Q) Where can you see yourself in 20 yrs?
A) On da beach mon. More wrinkly but definitely on a beach.
