111 YORKVILLE REVIEW
Although it is the size of a decently sized cantina or celebrity walk in closet, I quite admire this small space. With the capacity of 62 persons this tiny basement lounge located in Toronto's trendy Yorkville is full of pretty faces and large wallets. The decor is soothing and stylish, gives off a very retro New York City kind of vibe. Lots of cool seating and two little hideaway nooks on each side of the front mirrored wall make it a perfect environment for good conversation. One Eleven has an enjoyable late menu and although the menu is quite small each item is decadent and full of taste. Macaroni and cheese with truffle oil, fresh fruit chocolate fondu and a glass of champagne satisfied my taste buds.
The newly started Wednesday night party at One Eleven is one of the coolest nights right now, if you have yet to check it you most definitely have to.
The music is a bit more urban compared to the weekends at One Eleven but the crowd stay's upscale which is a difficult combination to find. A little bit of hip hop, r & b and some tracks you forgot ever existed are what to expect on a Wednesday night. The music on Wednesday is more than enough reason to brag about this spot, but you aren't missing anything too special when it comes to the weekend party. Weekends you will find floating flute glasses filled with champagne and strawberries being carried around by young blondes in decked out glamours outfits leaving their tabs to be paid by older married men. The venue is hot, but don't go out of your way to make it a destination venue unless you are in the area or it is a Wednesday evening.
